 Options for Treatment

 

ENDOMETRIOSIS-ASSOCIATED PAIN

The objective is to excise all visible endometriosis and treat with post­operative danocrine or GnRH for 3 months, then maintain the patient with combination oral contraceptive pills such as Orthonovum, 1/35-21 day, cyclically.

 

  1. Stages I and II

 

  • Danazol or GnRH in selected cases
  • Laparoscopic surgery with postoperative danazol or GnRH
  • Conservative surgery by laparotomy with preoperative danazol

 

  1. Stage III: moderate disease

 

  • Laparoscopic surgery with postoperative danazol or GnRH
  • Conservative surgery by laparotomy with preoperative danazol

 

  1. Stage IV: severe and extensive disease

 

  • Conservative surgery by laparotomy with preoperative danazol
  • Laparoscopic surgery with postoperative medical suppression
