The Pilocarpine indications include various glaucoma types and ocular hypertension. Mostly the medication is prescribed for the purpose to manage the pressure inside the eyeball.
Pilocarpine stimulates eye muscles activity and therefore better eye drainage channels function. It makes possible to keep the intraocular fluid amount on safe level.
The ability of Pilocarpine to narrow the pupil helps patients with implanted lenses to decrease the condition of glare at darkness from light they can suffer from. This property of preparation can be also administered after taking of enlarging pupil drugs made before surgery.
Dosage and administration
Eye drop insertion is made by instilling it in amount 1-2 drops per eye allow 3 to 4 doses daily. To encourage the eye muscles activity the weakest 1% solution is applied.
